Welcome to The Wemyss Coastal Trail, a walking adventure that will take you along the Fife Coastal Path to some of our most amazing places. On this trail, learn about the mining in the area, the history and carvings of the Picts at Wemyss Caves, and take a visit to MacDuff castle.
This trail is not suitable for all. On foot, it will take a couple of hours, and check your bus times home from West Wemyss where the trail finishes. There are steps and some slightly loose sections. Suitable outdoor footwear is advised.
Unfortunately, the terrain is not suitable for wheelchairs, scooters or bicycles.
Please note that this is a linear route. It starts here in East Wemyss and finishes in West Wemyss. You may walk back (an hour), or you can take the bus. Monday – Friday, the local bus service leaves West Wemyss hourly, eight minutes past with the last bus at 15:08.
Bus times can be found on the link below. The trail finishes in West Wemyss and the bus can bring you back to East Wemyss or on to Leven for further bus and train connections.
This trail begins in the heart of East Wemyss on the green opposite the Perfect Scoop ice cream shop.
