Designed by a well-known architect Reginald Fairlie and completed in 1925, Wellesley Church takes its name from Wellesley Road, which is named after Lady Eva Wellesley, the wife of a local landowner. The church is central to the community with many events taking place here throughout the week including a café and a second-hand homewares store.
This church was built to replace its predecessor in Lower Methil, establishing a new place of worship that better suited the needs of its congregation at the time. As one of Methil’s most imposing buildings, Wellesley Parish Church represents a significant piece of the area’s architectural and cultural heritage, reflecting the community’s evolution over the past century.
We are coming to the town centre of Upper Methil where you will find a number of shops and places to eat. Buns and Shakes across the road offers some tasty burgers and drinks and a modern dining experience. The Premier shop next door has a variety of hot food to take-away and some local treats from Stuart’s bakery.
