Continue along the promenade enjoying the views. Follow the promenade and then take the path on the right towards the small gardens.

On the way, we’ll pass by Beachcomber Amusements, Leven’s family amusement arcade with coin-rollers, Mario Kart, Time Crisis and many more nostalgic ways to entertain the whole family whatever the weather. There’s a great cafe upstairs with stunning views of Largo Bay. This building used to be a Bingo House where none other than the world famous artist Jack Vettriano used to work in the 1960s! His employment came to an end after he was calling different numbers to help his friends win the games!

Can you see a large blue dog? He’s our next check point!

Postie
Postcards from Fife - Levenmouth's Mascot
Hello, my name is Postcards from Fife, but my friends call me Postie. I was originally part of a trail called Scotties by the Sea, and when it was time for the trail to finish, the wonderful people of Levenmouth decided to come together and buy me so I can live on Leven promenade forever. I love this area! The views are terrific, I can walk for miles, but my favourite thing is the people! They smile when they see me, take my photo and even let their dogs sniff me! I feel like a celebrity. It is very important that you don’t sit on me. I am quite fragile, my paint will scratch easily and I cannot support the weight of a human. Please look after me so I can make people smile for years to come. Woof Woof, Postie https://welcometolevenmouth.co.uk/postie/

Festival Gardens
The lovely gardens, originally laid out in 1950, are the home to two memorials to the 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade. This special branch of the Polish military was established in October 1941 in nearby Upper Largo and under the command of General Stainslaw Sosabowski. They saw their main action in the Battle of Arnhem (Operation Market Garden) in September 1944. (Bill Kasman, 2020)
Vettriano,_Singing_Butler
Jack Vettriano
Born Jack Hogan in nearby Methil in 1951, Jack Vettriano is one of Britain's most famous painters. Working various jobs in the local area, he started painting as a hobby when given a watercolour set as a gift for his 21st birthday. By 1988, the age of 37, he had moved to Edinburgh and was painting full-time, and though failing to secure a spot at the University of Edinburgh to study fine art, his career went from strength to strength. His most famous work, The Singing Butler, became the most reproduced print in British history and cemented his name as one of the greats. Many of his paintings have been inspired by the landscape around Levenmouth, in particular Leven beach and Methil Power station. You can purchase originals and prints at Affordable Arts, just a fifteen minute walk from here in Lower Methil. Image: Jack Vettriano used under fair use
