There has long been sailing activity in Largo Bay but this became increasingly popular after the Second World War. In 1959, Largo Bay Sailing Club was formed.

Largo Bay Sailing Club is tucked away off the road just before number 96 although you pass the dinghy park just after the Aurrie Café. The open space used as a car park is known as the Orry, with access to the beach. Handrails for the steps onto the beach on the east side have recently been installed.

The Sailing Club is open to all ages and abilities and cater for those looking for a casual sail or take part in the competitive race program and can also provide tailored training to get you from the beach to the start line.
