End of the Trail: The Temple car park, with toilets and a seating area, is a prime spot to watch wildlife such as Eider ducks and gannets and rest your feet. Local lore whispers of Knights Templar connections, though these are shrouded in mystery.
Now you can retrace your steps, or follow along the beach to return to the start point.
If you wish to extend your walk, go up the steps at the back of the car park, turn right and follow the disused railway, after approximately there is a wide concrete turning area, turn left up the hill and carry on north through a lovely, wooded walk known as The Serpentine.
As you emerge onto the A915 the house opposite is known as The Eagle Gates Lodge, which was the gate house for Largo House, an imposing stately home which is now a ruin (it can just be seen through the trees in the winter if you walk towards Lundin Links). Carry on up the hill to Upper Largo where you can join the Upper Largo Heritage Trail!
